1. Overview

This Refunds Policy forms part of our broader Terms & Conditions and Returns Policy.

H&K Styles processes refunds in line with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and applicable NSW Fair Trading standards.

We want every customer to have confidence that refunds are handled fairly, promptly, and transparently.

2. Eligibility for Refunds

2.1 Refunds are available in the following situations:

  • A product is faulty, defective, unsafe, or not as described.
  • A product fails to meet its intended purpose.
  • An incorrect item was shipped by H&K Styles.

2.2 Refunds are not automatically granted for change of mind purchases unless expressly allowed under our Returns Policy.

2.3 To be eligible, customers must provide:

  • Proof of purchase (receipt, invoice or order confirmation); and
  • Evidence of the fault or discrepancy (e.g. photo or video of the product).

3. Change-of-Mind Refunds

3.1 We accept change-of-mind returns within 7 days of delivery for eligible items.

3.2 To qualify:

  • Items must be unworn, unwashed, and unused.
  • Original tags and packaging must be intact; and
  • The return must comply with our Returns Policy.

3.3 Refunds for change of mind exclude:

  • Underwear, intimates, or swimwear (for hygiene reasons).
  • Final Sale items (discounted ≥ 50%); and
  • Gift cards or store credits.

3.4 Return postage for change-of-mind items is at the customer’s expense.

4. Faulty or Misdescribed Items

4.1 If an item is faulty, damaged, or misdescribed, please notify us within 7 days of receipt at info.styles@handkstyles.com.

4.2 We will assess the claim and may request supporting evidence.

4.3 If confirmed faulty under the ACL, you are entitled to a:

  • Repair, replacement, or refund, depending on the fault’s nature; and
  • Pre-paid return label or reimbursement for postage.
  • 4.4 Faults caused by misuse, normal wear and tear, or failure to follow care instructions are not covered.

5. Refund Method & Timeframe

5.1 Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method only (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, PayPal, Afterpay, Zip Pay, or Apple Pay).

5.2 Refunds are typically processed within 3–5 business days after inspection, but may take up to 10 business days depending on your payment provider.

5.3 For Afterpay or Zip Pay purchases, the refund will be reflected in your payment plan—contact those providers for account-specific updates.

5.4 Shipping fees are non-refundable, except where a return is due to an H&K Styles error or a faulty product.

6. Store Credit & Exchanges

6.1 Where replacement stock is unavailable, H&K Styles may issue a store credit equal to the value of the returned item (valid 12 months).

6.2 Exchanges are processed once the returned product has been received and verified.

6.3 Store credits are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash.

7. Processing & Communication

7.1 You will receive email confirmation once your refund or exchange has been processed.

7.2 If your return is not approved, we will provide a written explanation and offer to return the item to you at your cost.

7.3 All communications relating to refunds should be directed to: info.styles@handkstyles.com.

8. Record-Keeping & Compliance

8.1 Under Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) s286 and ACCC guidelines, H&K Styles must retain accurate financial and refund transaction records for at least 7 years.

8.2 Personal information collected during refund processing is managed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

8.3 We take reasonable steps to protect refund-related data from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access.

9. Exceptions & Special Circumstances

9.1 No refunds are available for:

  • Gift cards or vouchers.
  • Products purchased through third-party retailers.
  • Items returned after the 7-day window without prior approval.

9.2 For custom orders or special promotions, different refund conditions may apply, as stated at the point of sale.
